CAMBRIDGESHIRE WEDNESDAY Twenty-Five Remain Eligible for Famous English Race to Be Run Next Week. Special Cablegram. NEWMARKET, England, Oct. 23. A final acceptance of twenty-five of the original entry of ninety-eight horses has been declared for the Cambridgeshire Handicap, to be run over the mile and one furlong course at Newmarket next Wednesday. This is the smallest acceptance in many years for this handicap, the last leg of the autumn double. The race has a gross prize of 0,625. Two American-owned horses, A. R. Macom-bers Tempest II., 112 pounds, a French-bred and trained invader, and Mrs. Chester Beat-ty"s Hypothesis, 110 pounds, both three-year-olds, are on the list of acceptors. Macomber won this race twice with Masked Marvel in 1925 and with Insight II. in 1926. Another important candidate is last years winner. Commander III., 115 pounds, now owned by Capt P. G. A. Harvey. No horse has won this race a second time since Christmas Daisy scored twice in succession in 1909 and 1910 to duplicate the earlier double success of Hacklers Pride in 1903 and 1904, both Irish-breds that were trained by the late Irish conditioner Jack Fallon at Netheravon. FINALIST TOP WEIGHT. Lady Rallis Finalist, which finished third in this event last year, is now top weight, with 127 pounds, and is one of the well-played choices, at odds of 100 to 9, in the ante-post betting. The favorite is Sir Abe Baileys Dan Bulger, 15 to 2, and he is expected to duplicate the success of the same owners Raymond three years ago. William Barnets Harina, 114 pounds, which will be the mount of the champion jockey Gordon Richards, U a well-supported second choice, at 10 to 1. At one point longer odds is Sir Alfred Butts Noble King, 114 pounds. Other odds are: James A. De Rothschilds Equemeling, 100 to 6; George Ashworths Fegomas, the mount of Willie Nevett, 18 to 1, and Martin H. Bensons Laureat II., Mrs. C. Evans Holyrood and Alfred Sainsburys. Noble Turk, jointly held at 20 to 1. Lord Harewoods Aldine and Captain Harveys Commander III. are 22 to 1. James V. Ranks Crisa 33 to 1 and W. H. Thorpslnchkeith 40 to 1.
