CARLUE, outrun early, responded gamely to urging, came to the outside in the stretch, finished gamely and wore down CHESTNUT BABY nearing the finish. CHESTNUT BABY, close up early, took a short lead in the stretch, held on gamely in the drive, but tired right at the end. COLOR MISS lacked early speed, was taken to the outside to enter contention, and closed gamely in the stretch. PALCO raced forwardly in the early part, drew clear on the lower turn but tired in the closing eighth. FOXY QUILLER quit badly. DEE DEE W. broke from outside the gate, was rushed into the lead on the first turn, was taken under restraint while making the pace, drew away on the lower turn, but had to be ridden out to hold STRATAGEM safe. The latter, well placed in the early running, moved up fast on the lower turn, came to the outside for the drive and finished gamely. CUSTOMIZED lacked early speed, saved ground on the lower turn, closed gamely in the stretch, but could not get up. THISTLE KAY showed a good effort. HOME SHORE, fractious at the gate, broke well, showed early speed, but tired badly in the closing eighth. ARMY SURGEON quit. Scratched 43144 Winsome Lass, 102. The latter, far back early got through on the inside when the field went wide entering the stretch, took a short lead in the stretch, held on gamely and just failed to last. MISS SUBWAY, away well lost much ground by racing wide, came gamely in the stretch and was going well at the end. SWEEPOGAN tired badly. ALTENA and LANS ALICE both tired badly. BROWN MAN worked his way up between horses, came to the outside in the stretch and finished gamely. BRILLIANT ROCK broke well, lost ground at the first turn, moved up gamely I on the outside entering the stretch, but tired in the closing eigheth. EDDIES BROTHER moved up fast on the back stretch, but tired badly in the final eighth. ROYAL TREASURE showed early speed.
