Jockey Eugenio Rodriguez, Cuban reins-man, who has been inactive for more than a week due to an attack of malaria, resumed riding Tuesday afternoon. A. C. Chesnut was an arrival from Beulah Park with the two three-year-olds, Brill, and Mattie Lou, which he will campaign here for the remainder of the meeting. Jockey Joe Judy put in his appearance for the first time Tuesday morning and made application for a license to ride at. Latonia. He rode with a good degree of success at the recent Beulah Park season. Due to illness, jockey Willie Hanka canceled his only engagement Tuesday afternoon. He expects to resume riding Wednesday. Lucas D. and Kentucky Jane, both sired by Rolls Royce at William Days farm at Madisonville, Ky., are the juveniles that accompanied the good sprinter, Ding Bin, from Columbus, Ohio. J. M. Rector has placed his nine-year-old gelding, Smooth Back, in training after a long lay-off and hopes to get the plater ready for racing at this meeting. The only other member of the Rector menage is Alan Chicle, a two-year-old non-starter. Tom B. Young, trainer of one of the largest public stables on the grounds, is pointing the Park View stables crack juvenile, Congressman, for the Cincinnati Trophy, which is his next stakes engagement. J. T; Simmons arrived from Beulah Park with the division of- the stable he is training for W. J. Sprow. Heading the list is the good sprinter Palm Island.
