1 WASHINGTON PARK NOTES Trainer Phil Reuter reported that Scatter Brain was sore upon his return to the barn following his race Monday but does not believe the trouble will interfere with the continued racing of the horse. William "Palmer House" Ryan, Chicago sportsman, leaves Thursday for France, where he will make an indefinite stay. While there he hopes to acquire several horses and if successful "will ship them to America for racing. Novelette and Miss Lily, which have been at Mrs. T. M. Murphys Golden Maxim Farm in Kentucky, are to be taken up by Jake Lowenstein, Chicago turfman, who is handling one of the larger stables here. H. D. King returned from Kansas City with Beryl King and Runaway Target and upon his arrival took over the training of Evening Gown, which has been rested since the close of the Aurora season. Jockeys Jack Westrope and Sid Hebert had their first mounts of the local meeting Tuesday. H. H. Morris vanned the two-year-old Judie K. from Beulah Park.
