GOOGIE took the lead from the start, drew clear in the back stretch, held on gamely when challenged and held GRIDDLE CAKE safe at the end. The latter, outrun early, gained gradually on the outside, closed with a rush in the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. POTTERTON, well placed in the early running, saved ground in the stretch, held on, but was tiring at the end. SAYLOMA showed a good effort, but tired in the final eighth. PRINCE WESTEND raced evenly. FEUETTE took command at the first turn, drew clear on the back stretch, went wide entering the stretch, finished gamely under a good ride and outlasted DIXIE DAN. The" latter, under early restraint, moved up fast on the lower turn, held on gamely in the drive and just failed to last. MADAME J.; outrun early, saved ground entering the stretch, took a short lead when straightened out in the stretch, but tired slightly at the end. PENMAR, well placed in .the early running, made a game bid on the lower turn but tired at the end. TWO BROOMS tired badly. VAN HASTINGS was outrun. Corrected weight Golden Words, 112.
