LOWERS OMAHA TIME RECORD Chinese Empress Runs Three-Quarters in 1 :10 at Ak-Sar-Ben Wednesday Greeters Day. OMAHA, Neb., June 15. Chinese Empress, a seven-year-old, smashed the Ak-Sar-Ben six furlongs record Monday afternoon when she ran six furlongs in 1:10 to, clip two-fifths of a second from the mark established some years ago by Khamseen. The mare, showing exceptional speed, won by many lengths and her race was one of the most impressive of the meeting. Track superintendent Ronin, who has the Ak-Sar-Ben racing strip in good condition, stated that he fully expected that more j marks would fall before the conclusion of the meeting July 5. Wednesday will be Hotel Greeters Day at Ak-Sar-Ben Field, while American Legion Day will be celeberated Saturday. Omaha boasts the largest American Legion Post in the world, so an exceptionally big crowd is expected to attend the races on.. the-weekend. Thursday will be Southern Iowa Day and large crowds from that district will be . present. i
