NANDI sprinted into the lead at once, was hustled along in the lead the first quarter, was taken in hand and steadied around the turn, held on gamely in the drive and was going away at the end under mild urging. EILEEN O. forced the pace from the start, came willingly through the final eighth but was unable to reach the winner. RIDEAU, slow to settle in his best stride, worked his way forward in the last three-eighths, closing a good gap. SPEY CREST made up ground. CANIA went evenly in a good effort. COLORED ARTIST could never threaten. NELL KUHLMAN made up ground the last quarter mile. LASSIES MARY quit after three-eighths. JAKE BLIEDEN had brief early speed. GENTLE KNIGHT, much the best, was rated along on the outside slightly in the lead for the first three-quarters, wore down EL BANDIDO in the stretch, then drew clear in the final sixteenth. EL BANDIDO was hustled into a slight lead rounding the turn, held on gamely in the drive but was no match for the winner in the closing stages. CHIPS, away slowly, worked its way through the field closing a big gap. FIRE REEL, well placed throughout, had no excuses. LAST TIME tired badly through the stretch. DON VERN went evenly. BALAXY sprinted into the lead at once, drew clear rounding the turn, closed willingly, but was not good enough. FORE ISUS, slow" to settle in its best stride, closed with a rush next the inner rail through the final quarter. GOANWIN, well placed throughout, was not hustled when her stablemate took command. The latter slipped through on the inside leaving the back stretch to gain a brief lead, closed willingly, but was not good enough. MARGIE LOU set the early pace, dropped back rounding the lower turn, then came again in the stretch drive. OMAREEN closed with a rush through the final quarter mile. LOCARA made up ground. DENCLAIRE tired. POOP DECK tired badly. BIG ONE quit badly.
