OURAGAN RUNS GOOD RACE Makes Fastest Time of Current Meeting Over Three-Quarters at Long Branch Course. TORONTO, Ont., June 15. Ouragan, ace sprinter of the Parkwood Stable, experienced little trouble in taking the measure of the five others that sported silks in the Humber Handicap, a dash of six furlongs, which featured the next to closing days sport at the LongBranch Jockey Club track. Closest to the winner when the finish was reached came Joyride, from the Cosgrave Stable. The latter was followed home by the Erin-dale Stables Movieman, imported son of Poor Man and Marlhills Star. Clarksdale, Dark Sun and Lyons Night made up the balance of the field. Ouragan traversed the six furlongs in 1:13 flat, the fastest of the meeting and a time that was considered excellent considering the track was termed no better than good. Ideal weather conditions were responsible for a large gathering at the suburban course. In the feature event the diminutive Herb Black hustled Ouragan to the front shortly after the start. Once in front, Black took his mount under restraint and, after a slight shaking up at the eighth post when Joyride made his move, the Parkwood sprinter drew away nicely and was in hand at the wire. Joyride, which commanded most public support, failed to show his customary burst of speed away from the gate, but he improved his position gradually when pushed and was j just not good enough after nearing the leader at the eighth post. Movieman, well backed after his last good effort, showed some speed on the turn and outgamed the tiring Dark Sun "for third money. Clarksdale quit after showing a good brand of early speed and will no doubt improve off this race. Lyons Night cut no figure in the running.
