PURSES TAKEN FROM KID GLOVE AND GREEK FIRE TORONTO, Ont, June 15. Through a protest lodged with the stewards at Long Branch, the Erindale Stables Kid Glove and Greek Fire lost the purses won on Monday, June 14, for not carrying their proper weights. Kid Glove, winner of the first event, claimed "a ten-pound allowance for not winning since last October 11, which he was not entitled to, having won on October 22. The purse of 25 was awarded to Mrs. W. Youngs Babe Gaiety, while second money of 00, went to Mrs. F. C. Williams Solid. W. G. Campbells Cup Winner received third portion of 0, and A. Parsons , Right Foot received 5, fourth money-Greek Fire claimed an allowance for non- j winners since September last year, when j he won on November 7 and 19, last year. The Cosgravc stables Penrill was awarded the winners portion of the purse, 25, while the Four Ls Stables Mindreader got 00 for second, and W. "Watermans Pitchblende, 0 for third, and G. M. Hendries Santan was awarded 5 for the fourth portion.
