OISEAU NOIRE, hustled into the lead at once, was urged along under pressure and, saving ground throughout; closed gamely, outfinishing SMOKE RING. The latter, away slowly, worked its way forwardly on the outside in the first three-eighths, closed gamely but was not good enough. KINGS BOUNTY worked its way forward on the inside in the first half mile, came to the outside for the drive and closed a good gap. NOTROUBLE saved ground throughout in a good effort. IMPRIMIS, much the best, sprinted into the lead at once, was taken in hand and rated along for three-eighths, drew away entering the stretch and was in hand at the end. JAZ AGE forced the pace from the start, made repeated attempts to reach the leaders under punishment, but was not good enough. GALLOPETTE, a .forward factor from the start, was never able to threaten the first two and outfinished IMELDA. The latter made up ground through the stretch run. NEWELL tired badly. TABMARK was hustled into the lead on the outside in the opening eighth, drew clear entering the stretch and just failed to last. OAKWOODS LAD made up ground in the last, quarter mile; ZINGO tired after showing early speed. STEP ROSEY was unable to threaten under punishment. DODGE ME was outrun and raced greenly. FILANA, following the pacemaker, DUNLINS LAD, for the First mile and a quarter, took command midway of the second turn, was taken in hand and given a breather rounding the lower turn, then came again near the last fence, "drawing out in the closing drive. DUNLINS LAD set the pace under steady restraint the first turn of the field, gave way to the leader, came again to take, a slight lead rounding the turn, but was not good enough. BALLYMOTE fenced poorly and was unable to threaten the First two. MADDING bobbled at the sixth fence and his rider lost the stirrup iron, then moved up threateningly, but quit badly. NAHALLAC tired badly. TRANSMAC was away slowly and could never threaten. TADCASTER quit.
