LADY LAURA rushed into the lead shortly after the start, stood a long drive gamely and outlasted MONTARIS. The latter, closest to the winner all the way, made several challenges but tired slightly at the end. JOHN DRISKILL started slowly and far back early, saved ground entering the stretch and finished gamely. ENGLISH MANNERS was prominent all the way. RUSTIC LASSES was going gamely at the end. MISS CONTRARY, well placed in the early running, came to the outside entering the stretch, finished gamely and wore down LOCKET in the last few strides. LOCKET forced the early pace, raced GYPSIE CHIEF into the ground, drew clear on the lower turn, held on gamely in the drive, but could not withstand the winner. ROCKY PRINCE, pinched back at the start, saved ground during the run through the back stretch, finished gamely and was going well at the end. WATERFRONT, in close quarters on the back stretch, finished well in the final eighth. HER HERO tired badly. GYPSIE CHIEF quit. Overweight Locket, 2 pounds; Bloki, 1. BON CHAMP, under restraint for the first three-quarters, moved up gamely on the outside in the stretch and, responding gamely to punishment, outlasted PENNANT BEARER in a hard drive. The latter took a short lead at the first turn, dropped back entering the stretch, got through on the inside, but was in close quarters in the last sixteenth. BUD SMITH moved up with a rush after going a half mile, took the lead when straightened out in the stretch and held on well in the drive. OUR JOHNNY was outrun. DUNCE quit badly in the final sixteenth. SPARKLING ROSE tired. Overweight Nicks Gal, 4 pounds. FOURTH RACE 170 FEET IESS THAN 3-4 MILE. Futurity Course. WEST WICHITA, away well but outrun early, came to the outside in the stretch, closed gamely under urging, wore down TAP TIME and was drawing away at the end. TAP TIME forced the early pace, took, command when straightened put in the stretch, held on gamely in the drive, ..but could riot reach the winner, PALCO moved up with a rush on the inside, drew away on the lower turn, saved ground entering the stretch but tired in the final eighth. MANNERS QUEEN finished well. BRILLIANT SID broke fast and howed brief early speed. PRINCESS TDDA showed a flash of speed after. going three-eighths, but tired badly. DAVID W. broke fast, was taken under restraint for the first half mile, moved up fast on the lower turn, took command entering the stretch, drew away and was easing up at the end. CHEHALIS, far back early, closed with a rush on the outside in the final quarter mile and was going well at the end. BUBBLE UP lacked early speed, worked his way up between horses and finished fast.
