AGAWAM TURF NOTES t $ $ Henry S. Horkheimer, who has several of nis horses here competing in local racing, arrived to confer with Edward J. Bren-nan, relative to the fifteen-day meeting which he is sponsoring at Wheeling, W. Va. Plans for this season will be made known soon. A large delegation of representatives from the papermakers convention now in session in Springfield are expected to attend the racing program at Agawam Park Wednesday. Several of the events on the card have been named for that organization. James H. Doorly, who represented the Rhode Island Racing Commission in the stewards stand during the first meeting at Narragansett Park, was a visitor and enjoyed the sport that was provided. Jockey B. Wimmer was informed that his wife was taken ill and the youngster cancelled his mounts to journey to Pawtucket, R. L The apprentice allowances on Canteraway in the third race Tuesday, Grand Baker and Chi Ku in the fourth race and Smear in the seventh race were waived with permission of the stewards. The next edition of the condition book for the Agawam racing association has been forwarded to the printers and it is expected to be released Friday. H. Neusteter shipped a draft of his horses to Delaware Park, while another division remained here to finish out the balance of the local meeting.
