1 DETROIT TURF NOTES I 3 Robert "Smash" Mitchell, one of the few Negro riders in the country had his first mount of the meeting Tuesday. John B. McKee, Mt. Sterling, Ky., horseman and former owner, arrived from New York, where he took in a month of racing. Hal Price Headleys Drift. Along arrived from Washington Park to fill her engagement in the Moslem Temple Stakes. -The filly was accompanied by Catnap, a half sister to Mike Hall. Jockey Frank Grill has entered the employ of the Bomar Stable. Claude Hunt secured the services of E. Yager for Aces Wild and the lad will come from Kentucky to handle the horse in the Moslem Temple Stakes. J. Atkinson departed for Montreal and jockey Sidney Erwin arrived from Kansas City. Charles Kurtsinger is due from Chicago Wednesday to ride Radio Charm in the Moslem Temple Stakes.
