Richard McMahon, manager of the Calu-. met Farm, came up from Kentucky for the days racing and fisticuffs Tuesday night. Mrs. James Braddock, wife of the heavyweight boxing champion, was a Washington Park visitor this afternoon as the guest of Mrs. H. E. Campbell of the Flamingo Hotel. Helping to swell todays crowd were 250 members of the Turf and Field Club of Cincinnati, for which the feature race was named. Ike Hyams, head of the organization presented a loving cup to the winner of the race. Among Cincinnati visitors here for the heavyweight championship bout and who were at Washington Park this afternoon were W. Otis "Doc" Rakestraw and Charles "Irish" OConnor. Cleveland Putnams Robber Bold arrived here Tuesday from New York to fill his engagement Saturday in the Washington Park Futurity. J. J. Flanigan has decided against sending the Valdina Farms Sir Emerson to Detroit for the Frontier Handicap Saturday. Flanigan was forced to let up on Sir Emersons training for a time, but he might have shipped the horse to Detroit had he been able to get at least one race into him before that engagement. That being impossible, Flanigan is keeping the horse here. Calumet Farms Count Morse, winner of four straight stakes, will not be a starter in the Frontier Handicap at Detroit on Saturday, but will be reserved instead for the Inaugural Handicap at Arlington Park. This announcement was made Tuesday by trainer F. J. Kearns. A. G. Woodman and S. Furnival today were granted trainers licenses. C. F. Henry, placing judge at Washington Park, will depart for his home in Detroit Saturday night, and after a weeks vacation will move on to Thistle Down, where he is to serve as racing secretary. "Butsey" Hernandez, New Orleans horseman, plans to transfer his large stable to Thistle Down at the conclusion of the local meeting. Jockey Leonard Turner will accompany him. Apprentice Paul Ryan has left here for Detroit, where he will ride H. P. Headleys Drift Along in the Moslem Temple Stakes Wednesday. The horses Parva Stella and Springs Here, owned by W. Bradley, were transfered to Arlington Park last night by trainer W. W. Lord. They had been quartered at Lincoln Fields. Another jockey departure for Detroit is Chas. Kurtsinger, who will handle Mrs. Emil Denemarks Radio Charm in the Moslem Temple Stakes.
