NO ENDING, going closest to the pacemaker and kept out in the better footing, responded to stout urging when straightened into the stretch and was up in the final sixteenth. HARDY had good speed while setting the pace, raced in the softer footing next the inside rail and faltered undr punishment in the last eighth. GHOST QUEEN worked her way up on the outside and came gamely in the final test. SHRED began well but lacked speed. STENOGRAPHER was never a factor. BEGINNING broke slowly and was held safe. NIGHT SERGE, going stoutly after the beginning, went to the front midway of the turn, opened up a. clear lead but was punished approaching the finish when holding his company safe. GOLDEN EFFORT worked his way into a forward- position approaching the stretch but was no match for the winner in the final test. ADVOCATE JUNIOR dropped back on the turn while racing next to the rail, then outstayed tiring horses in the final drive. WEDDING RING had no excuses. FLAMING BELLE, hurried into a contending position, was kept on the outside, closed determinedly when reaching the stretch and came away under strong pressure in the final eighth. BRIEF went in the first flight, saved ground wherever possible, but could not stay with the winner. PIPERS TUNE obtained racing room on the inside and finished gamely. FALEEN improved her position steadily while working her way forward on the inside. SHES MINE made up ground slowly. BLACK SELMA was going willingly near the close. CANTERAWAY lacked speed early and was held safe". GREY CHIEFTAIN opened up a long lead in the first half mile, then tired badly. EYELASHES had no excuses. ABBOTS LAST moved up stoutly to engage the leaders rounding the far turn, then fought it out strongly to the close. NANCY MAE, slow to settle in her stride, gained fast in the last half mile and finished on the inside of the leaders in the deep footing. HAPPY TOM was through early. THE BARD was outrun.
