CURLING, a forward factor from the start, was carried wide entering the stretch, then closing with a rush, wore down the leaders and was going away at the end. UNCLE JULY slipped through on the inside when the leaders bore out entering the stretch, closed gamely, but was not good enough. RECITAL was hustled to the leaders in the first quarter mile, dropped back entering the stretch, then came again in the final eighth and outfinished OWITCH. OWITCH was away slowly, was hustled to the leaders on the inside in the first half mile, then faltered in the drive. DON CARLOS tired badly. MARS PALATINE made up ground.
