ROBBER JJOLD ARRIVES Putnam-Owned Colt at Homewood for Washington Park Futurity. Strongest Hands Held by Western Stables for Valuable Race to Be Run Saturday." HOMEWOOD, 111., June 22. Robber Bold, an eastern colt with designs on the looting of Washington Park for some 2,000 in prize money, arrived at the local race track this morning prepared to go in the rich Futurity Saturday, closing day. Robber Bold is owned by Cleveland Putnam of Arizona, but comes here by way of New York to try for the richest juvenile prize yet offered this year. Unless Robber Bold is a great deal better colt than his two races indicate, he may have more than he can handle at Washington Park. Right now the western stables appear to have the race among themselves and it will take a superlative colt from any other section to beat them. The balance of power in the juvenile division would appear to belong in the West, with Illinois, Kentucky and Texas-owned stables leading the way. It is expected that Robber Bold and even Robert L. Gerrys stake winner, Perpetuate, should he come here will have as much trouble in the six furlong Futurity. Here is the Futurity line-up as regards the stronger stables: Milky Way Farm Six named, with two flated to start. Most probable starters are: Mountain Ridge and Tiger, though the 8,000 War Bridge is a possibility following his six furlong trial today in 1:15, handily. Calumet Farm Seven named, with two likely to go for the rich prize. Teddy Weed, regarded a certain starter, with either Bull Lea or Pharacase to accompany him. Bull Leas stock rose after his sparkling trial today, when he was sent the six furlongs in 1:14, handily, over the dead track. LASSATOR CHIEF RELIANCE. Valdina Farms Lassator, winner of the Prairie State Stakes earlier in the meeting, is the main reliance of the Texas stable which has had such good luck with its juveniles this season. Teddys Comet or Diavolo Boy may race as an entry with Lassator. Trainer Flanigan sent Lassator six furlongs this morning in 1:16, just breezing. Hal Price Meadley The Kentucky breeder would appear to have one of the very strongest hands in the Futurity play. His Bourbon King scored so handily Monday that he may be one of the choices for Saturdays race. Menow, winner of his last start at Washington Park, will go with him. Menow worked six furlongs in 1:14, handily, during the morning. Against these four stables, which probably will have a total of eight starters in the stake, any shipping in from other points may find themselves distinct outsiders. Tony Pelleteris Garry, highly regarded colt, which has yet to start, continues to train for a possible Futurity go and went five furlongs in 1:02, handily, in his latest move. The Bomar Stables Detroit Bull, Mrs. John Hertz Gipsy Minstrel and the Woolford Farms Joe Schenck are being pointed for the race and will add even more to the preponderance of western colts.
