CAMERA DECIDES FOR GOGGLES ; Thrilling Stretch Duel in Duff erin , Headliner Discount Finishes j Second and Circulet Third. I TORONTO, Ont, June 22. Although Tuesdays program was devoid of any feature offering, the outcome of the fourth event, which brought together a fair band of Canadian-bred sprinters over seven furlongs, furnished the fans with plenty of thrills. The finish saw Goggles and Discount reach the jwire heads apart, and three lengths behind them came Circulet and Masonville, closely j lapped. j The photo finish sign was posted and, after the first split of .the purse was awarded to Goggles, a second picture sign was displayed to inform. the gathering that the judges had again called on the camera to split Circulet and Masonville for show honors. The picture revealed that Goggles had won by a head and that Circulet had finished a scant nose in the van of Masonville. Clear skies and a good program attracted another banner crowd to the popular half-mile plant. The racing was the most interesting and formful of the meeting. In downing Discount, Goggles turned in the best race he has run this season. Mc-Dougall, who was entrusted with the care of the Crawford gelding, was satisfied to remain off the fast early pace set by Discount, and it was not until the last sixteenth 1 of a mile that he began to really work on his mount. It was a ding-dong finish, and it was only in the very last strides that Goggles shoved his head in front. Discount was never menaced for second place as Circulet and Masonville were staging their little duel three lengths in the rear. It was a close finish between this pair, but in another jump Masonville would have had the award to himself! The balance of the field did not loom up as dangerous threats after they had gone the first sixteenth of a mile. Among the jockeys how riding at Dufferin who intend sporting silks at Hamilton on Saturday are F. McTague, C. McTague, J. McTague, G. Watson, T. Aimers, J. Mann and H. Peden.
