CODY ANN, well placed in the early running, came to the outside in the stretch and was going well at the end. WESTERN CITY raced well for a haff mile, then tired. KERRYLITE quit. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. RED MAGIC, much the best, took the lead shortly after the start, drew away on the lower turn and won easily. ORBEDLU lacked early speed, moved up fast on the lower turn, came well in the stretch but did not threaten the winner. JAMES V. started slowly, worked his way up gradually and finished gamely. SUN CRACKER, in close quarters shortly after the start, worked his way up between horses and was going well at the end. LITTLE DREAM was outrun. STORMY RHYTHM and DONATE both quit. WITTORA, racing well, took the lead at the first turn, drew away on the back stretch, bore out badly in the closing eighth but held INDIAN BOY safe in the drive. The latter, far back early, finished gamely on the outside and was wearing the winner down at the end. DAME GRUNDY, far back early, worked her way up between horses and was going gamely at the end. ROCKHURST broke fast, was pinched back at the first turn saved ground entering the stretch, and tiled slightly near the end. SKY HAVEN was outrun. PROMPT RETURN lacked speed, closed gamely in the stretch VLA was going well at the end. MARBLE BOY broke slowly and, far back early, got through on the inside inJthe stretch, going well at the end. HALLE broke slowly, moved up gamely in the stretch, bore over on MABEL MILLER and held on well in the final eighth. MABEL MILLER lacked her usual early speed, was in close quarters in the stretch and tired at the end. SUN DORA showed early speed in the pacemakinj; but quit badly in the final eighth.
