ANOTHER STEVE DONOGHUE Nephew of Famous English Jockey Arrives at San Diego and Will Ride at Del Mar. AGUA CALIENTE, Mex., June 28. Jockey Steve Edward Donoghue, a nephew of Steve Donoghue, who came to America to ride the illustrious Papyrus in his series of match races in this country, is an arrival from Australia, and will apply for a jockeys license at the Del Mar meeting. Donoghue, who is 28 years old, speaks fifteen different languages, and is a highly educated adherent of racing. His riding experience spans over a period of ten years and during his career has won several important stakes on foreign soil, of which the most important was The Delhi Special, when he guided the Mohammed Rajah Cuveck to victory in 1928. The event was endowed with a value of 70,000 rupees, which in value of American money would total 5,000. Donoghue, while of Irish and English parentage, was born in Waukegan, Illinois, and has a sister whom was also born in this country. If weight proves an important factor in obtaining mounts, Donoghue should get plenty of work, for he can tip the beam at the light poundage of 97 pounds. A rather strange coincidence surrounds the name of Donoghue. His fathers name is Steve, while the late and more prominent ! Steve Donoghue, who rode Papyrus, was give the name of Charles when christened, but adopted the name Steve.
