I DETROIT TURF NOTES T $ -4 Main Man, Snow Fairy, Black Arrow and Very Busy, the property of Jerome B. Res-pess, arrived from Latonia Sunday morning. Jockey Eugene Rodriguez, who holds that unique record of winning two races at one mile and six furlongs and one race at two miles and a quarter on the same day, accompanied owner Respess from Kentucky. Rodriguez achieved this feat on the closing day of the River Downs 1936 fall meeting. Incidentally, they were the last three races on the card. Jockey James McCoy, who is plying his trade at Latonia, took advantage of the layoff at that point Monday to witness Detroits program. He returned to Kentucky tonight. William Crisp will handle the engagements for apprentice J. Marrero. George Keeton shipped his three horses to Delaware Park. They accompanied the H. A. Allen string to Empire City and will be vanned from there to the new course. T. D. Buhls Cathedral was sent to the Briggs Farm, where he will be turned out until trainer "Lex" Wilson returns here for the fall meeting. Plans were changed for the division of the Blue Ridge Farm stable, and it will be shipped to Arlington Park Tuesday. Originally the horses were slated to be sent to Thistle Down. Charles Stevenson, who topped his weeks riding with a victory astride Infantry in the Frontier Handicap, and apprentice J. Marrero led the riders for the meeting with twenty-one victories each to their credit. Lee Hardy and L. Guymon have ridden twenty winners each, and J. Rosen, fourteen. Farrell Jones, however, led the riders last week with eight victories. Marrero was astride five winners, and Guymon, four. Blanks for the 1938 and 1939 Preakness Stakes nominations, for which close July 15, are available at the secretarys office. Nominations for the Michigan Handicap, to be run Saturday, and the Liberty Handicap and Woodward Stakes, to be offered Monday, July 5, closed Saturday night. To take care of any entries mailed late Saturday, the nominations will be held open until tomorrow. Despite several of the leading stables having left for Arlington Park, racing secretary Webb Everett stated today that the entry lists for the three sakes were very satisfactory. 4
