BUD SMITH had speed from the start and, responding gamely to urging in the stretch, opened up a good lead and had enough left to hold ITS KEEN. The latter was always prominent and raced strongly to the end. KIEVA GIRL, probably best, was taken back in the early running, then saved ground in the stretch to finish well. VOLGADALE closed some ground. PORT 0 PLAY failed to display his usual finishing power. DEPUTATION broke slowly and, used up reaching a contending position, tired in the stretch. KUVERA also tired. Overweight Kieva Girl, 5 pounds.
