With a total of j fifty-three nominations for the ,500: added Cincinnati Trophy, prospects for a large and ! speedy field of juvenile colts and geldings are bright for Saturday at Latonia when the next stakes; offering of the season comes up for decision.. JMore than half of the number of youngsters eligible for the stake are on the grounds and in training at present, which affords, some assurance of a select band contesting over the six furlongs route ion the first of the- remaining three stakes to be offered herei Among, those which are being pouxted for the Trophy are Lee Allgeier,, Young Ebony, Sweeping Tide,. Rapid Sweep,. Rocky Road, Pepper, Colonel. Jim, Cautivo, Cometa, High Qnej Jeffersontown Tea Hound, Mr. Deins, Gov. Chandler, Congressman, Knee Deep, Backintime; The Whale, Fameiobi Big Boy Blue; Bon Buddy; Don Moss and John Shouse. Of the foregoing the Park View Stables Congressman and J. W. Parrishs Knee Deep have been the most impressive, to, date in their performances; The former scored vie- : tories- in his only two starts at Latonia and i but since, his last victory developed a ; cracked heel.. Trainer Tom B. Young hopes to have it sufficiently healed to permit the son of Rhinocks starting in the Trophy. Knee Deep won his. last start in comparatively easy fashion, but did not perform as impressively as many had expected:. However; the Parrish colorbearer is still regarded as a serious threat. Gov. Chandler,, which has displayed several good trials, but has not yet been seen under colors here, is being prepped especially for the thirty-sixth running of the two-year-old stake and is certain to come in for some consideration. In addition to the ;500 added purse, the Cincinnati Trophy, a cherished memento, goes to the owner of the winner of the his-i toric stake;
