LEADING AMERICAN TRAINERS Hirsch Jacobs manages to obtain a sufficient number of winners each week to enable him to maintain a comfortable lead over his opponents in the race for leading training honors of the year. Having saddled two winners last week, the New Yorkers total has now reached seventy-five. Ben Jones is in second place, having broken a tie with E. H. Beezley by sending three winners to the post while the latter had but two winning charges. Three more winners during the past seven days have enabled Tony Pelleteri to take fifth place behind B. S. Michell. Following are the leading American trainers for the racing of January 1 to June 26, inclusive: Trainer. Wins. Trainer. Wins. Jacobs, H 75 Copenhaver, L... 32 Jones, B. A 54 Kearns, F.
