1 AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES Tl j Trainer Max Hirsch reported that the King Ranch Stables Dawn Play, winner of the American Derby, is due at Belmont Park from Chicago on Tuesday. C. S. Howard, owner of the Brooklyn Handicap winner, Seabiscuit, left for his Los Angeles home Sunday. He plans to return for a short visit at Saratoga Springs. Jockey Gilbert returned from Delaware, where he rode Flying Scot in the Kent Stakes. Knowing, Strabo and Orient Express, owned by Mrs. C. O. Iselin, were returned to Jamaica from Delaware Park. They fulfilled engagements there on Saturday. J. H. Whitneys Flying Scot arrived at Belmont Park from Delaware Park. Geo. D. Widener lost eight horses via the claiming route this season. He leads other owners in that respect. Al Burlen, clerk of the scales and Jockey Club statistician, reported that sixty-seven horses changed hands via claiming route up to Saturday. Jockeys were notified that they must present their social security numbers to Nelson Strang to comply with instructions from the state racing commission. Eighty-nine flat riders and seventy-three steeplechase pilots are in possession of licenses to ride at this meeting. William Hinphy, owner and trainer, arrived from Rockingham Park and will remain for several days. Entry blanks for the Preakness of 1938 and 1939 were distributed by Frank Bryan during the day. Julius Wessler worked W. H. Gallaghers Rudie a slow six furlongs at Jamaica on Sunday as a part of his preparation for the Empire City Handicap. A. G. Vanderbilt, E. R. Bradley and Howe Stable moved to Empire City yesterday. James Cof froth arrived from, Europe and was on hand for the afternoons racing. He will leave for California this week.
