LUCILLE H. was badly outrun early, but finished stoutly. ALL DEUCES was in close quarters several times and might have won with better racing luck.. CHESTNUT LADY and SUGAR DADDY tired badly. ROYAL WAVE was outrun a trifle in the early part but saved ground in the stretch when the leaders went wide and drew away in the last eighth. JOHNNIE D. dropped back at the start and was in close quarters nearing the far turn but found an opening in the stretch to finish gamely. MINT BOX appeared to have the race won when she moved into command approaching the stretch turn but she was allowed to race very wide on the turn and lost all, chance. OUR MARY tired. Won ridden out; second and third driving. PANATELA raced to the front at once to open up a short lead and, well rated, had enough left at the end to hold ALBINO. The latter was bumped at the start, then raced strongly on the inside to be in close quarters on the far turn, then came to the outside and, although racing wide in the stretch, finished well and was pressing the winner at the end. SILVERY CLOUD was taken up when in close quarters entering the back stretch, then made a brief move around the far turn, but tired near the end. BARBARA A. and SPEEDY RETURN tired in the stretch.
