SPARTA MATRON TOP TOHT Headley Filly Assigned 126 Pounds for ,000 Added Stake at Arlington Park Saturday. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 28. Hal Price Headleys Sparta has been assigned top weight of 126 pounds by handi-capper Charles McLennan in the ,000 added Matron Handicap, the mile feature for fillies and mares, three years olds and upward, at Arlington Park on Saturday, July 3. Thirty-seven of the ranking fillies and mares in this country were nominated for the Matron, which is being revived after a lapse of five years. It was inaugurated at Arlington in 1930, when it was won by Valenciennes. In 1931 the Matron was won by Risque, and in 1932 by Tred Avon. The race was dropped in 1933. Following Sparta in handicapper McLen-nans regard is Mrs. Emil Denemarks Two Bob, under 123. Then, among the high weights, come Thomas D. Taggarts Marica, 122, and Mrs. Denemarks Genie Palatine, 121. King Ranchs Dawn Play, which won the Acorn Stakes, the Coaching Club American Oaks and the American Derby, has been assigned 120 pounds. However, the Clock Tower filly likely will be reserved for her more important engagement in the 0,000 Classic on July 24. She was shipped from Chicago to New York yesterday.
