SORTEADO RATED GREAT HORSE LOS ANGELES, Calif., Dec. 14. Horace Luro stated that Sorteado, the recent South American purchase of Charles S. Howard, is, off his performances below the equator, the greatest horse yet to be brought to this country from the Argentine. Sorteado, a son of Tresiete, won the triple crown, the three great stakes in his country equivalent in the United States to the Futurity, the Kentucky Derby and the Santa Anita Handicap. Sorteado is nominated for this years running of the Santa Anita Handicap. He arrived in New York today. He will be a four-year-old here ti first of the year.
