I SANTA ANITA TURF NOTES $ Bobby Dotter, ace jockey under contract to Howard Oots, gallops the great mare Marica every morning. Dotter reports that the mare is coming along splendidly in her training. Bill Finnegan, who has the Circle M horses, reports that his top sprinter Speed to Spare will be ready to go early in the meeting. E. Allan Russell sold his good Man o War colt Manalong to R. R. M. Carpenter, brother-in-law of William du Pont. This horse will be sent east and put over the jumps. He is a full brother to Holystone, champion hunter of America. The good Chilean mare Sahri II., winner of the Hawthorne Gold Cup, will return to the races this winter at Santa Anita. She is due to join her stablemates in the Barker barn in a few days. OGrady, the imported horse in the stable of Tony Pelleted, was out on the track for his first western gallop. This thoroughbred is a real threat for the 00,000 handicap, having won in top company in England. He is a big, powerful, dark brown horse and looks to be in top condition. All the Pelleteri horses shipped well. Specify, the Baroni ace, goes up to Tan-foran for the running of the San Francisco Handicap.
