BROTHER NIBS, a forward contender from the start, came fast in the middle of the track through the stretch to catch PALACIO near the end and won under urging. PALACIO gained steadily after going half the distance to take a short lead 0:1 the outside nearing home, but could not resist the winner. REDCAR made up ground to finish well. NORWAY NELL faltered after looming up dangerously in the stretch. COHIGH and EASTER ELE were used up making the pace and tired. PRETTEIA was blocked when she attempted to get through an opening after entering the final eighth. STAR STEPPER raced poorly. TOWNSMAN was in close quarters soon after the start and was never dangerous thereafter. TIME FLIGHT, timidly ridden, was never hard urged, ran a poor race and can do better. Scratched Beti Bat, 115. CANDLELIGHT was unable to keep up with the early leaders and seemed to tire rounding the far turn, but came again under hard riding in the stretch to catch BROAD WINK in the closing strides. BROAD WINK was sent forward steadily when ready and headed GOLD TROPHY in the stretch, but could not stall off the winner, although going well to the end. GOLD TROPHY showed fine speed in paccmaking but tired near the end. BON HAMBURG closed ground in the late stages. YOUNG AGNES tired after making a good move after leaving the back stretch.
