PASCUMA AT NEW ORLEANS Crack Italian Rider Returns to Old Stamping Ground Rode First Louisiana Derby Winner. NEW ORLEANS, La.. Dec. 14. The return of Anthony "Poosh Em Up Tony" Pas-cuma, to the jockey fold at the Fair Grounds this winter, brought back recollections of the many important conquests of the New York Italian in years gone by in the Crescent City. When at the height of his riding career, Pascuma piloted the horses in the successful stable of J. J. Robinson, which was handled by H. C. "Doc" Riddle. Pascuma enjoyed the distinction of having accounted for virtually every stake race of importance offered at the Fair Grounds and Jefferson Park. Pascuma guided Lucky Tom to victory in the first Louisiana Derby to be decided at the present site of the race, when it was transferred from Jefferson Park. Although Pascuma hasnt any of the fashionable horses to ride this season, the veteran Italian still shows his cunning.
