1 TROPICAL PARK TURF NOTES s $ M. M. Harrison, trainer of the W. C. Stroube stable, stated that the horses in his care would be shipped to Narragansett Park instead of Keeneland. The horses of A. L. Aste including Miss Happy, a double winner during the present meeting at Tropical Park, will be transferred to the Havre de Grace meeting scheduled to open a week from Saturday at the Susquehanna plant. Trainer J. Hogan will direct the loading of the horses. Jockey Ira Hanford has ended his riding for the Florida season and departed for Lexington, Ky. His engagement book will be placed in the hands of his brother, Carl, who has become too heavy to ride. Frank P. Coltiletti, who conducts a public stable, is sending his stock to Maryland for the meeting at Havre de Grace. Frank wa3 recently discharged from a local hospital and is well on the mend. Bobby Goldman, assistant to Billy Ames, director of publicity for the Narragansett Racing Association, leaves for Boston Monday to report for work. Jockey M. Merrill, affiliated with the W. H. Gallagher stable, departs at the end of the meeting for New York. Thomas Thorp, steward of the Gables Racing Association, will leave after the close of the meeting for his home in Rockville Center, Long Island. After spending a few days in that vicinity he will head for Narragansett Park, where he officiates in the stewards stand. Ray Metcalf, who is shipping Peachypie and other members of his stable to Narragansett Park at the close of the meeting, will open a public stable to race on the New England circuit.
