HUGE SALARIES MADE IN 1937 WASHINGTON, D. C, April 7. Movie and radio salaries in 1937 reached immense sums, as revealed today. Greta Garbo received 72,499, Major Bowes pulled down 27,817, Lionel Barrymore 29,174, Clark Gable 35,333, Myrna Loy 23,916, Jeannette Mac-Donald 19,400, Fred Astaire 71,711, Bob Burns 42,856, Gary Cooper 38,416, Joe E. Brown 67,500, and many others with salaries of six figures were revealed.
