T. J. PENDERGAST INDICTED KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 7. T. J. Pender-gast, powerful Democratic political leader in Missouri with whom Governor Lloyd Stark has been feuding, was indicted by the federal grand jury today on a charge of income tax evasion. Also indicted was R. E. OMalley, former state superintendent of insurance., The government charged .that a total of 15,000 handled in what is known as the Missiour Fire Insurance compromise case, reached Pendergast and 2,000 went to OMalley and that neither of these men accounted for the funds in their income tax returns for 1935 and 1936. Pendergast was accused of attempting to evade a large part of his income tax for 1935 and making an untrue income tax return for 1936. Pendergast was released under 0,000 bond.
