KING WINTER VISITS SOUTH j ATLANTA, Ga., April 7. King Winter, ac-! companied by near-freezing temperatures and winds of tornadic proportions, paid a late visit to the deep South today. Winterlike temperatures prevailed from El Paso, Texas, to the seaboard, with Florida the only state in the deep South to escape the full force of the late cold snap. Wind storms swept across scattered sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas, bringing injuries to nearly two-score persons and resulting in considerable property damage. Shaw, La., on the Mississippi border, apparently was hardest hit. More than twenty houses were demolished and a score of persons injured.
