FAIR assumed a short lead carlv and, withstanding strong challenges from GOLDEN THOUGHT, held on villinglv in the final stages and barely lasted long enough. RED HAY broke fast, then lacked speed to keep in early contention, but moved up on the outside until reaching the stretch and, taken to the inside, finished with abold rush. GOLDEN THOUGHT forced a steady pace, challenged repeatedly and continued gamely to the finish. JACK FLY raced prominently and showed a good performance. HUNTING RIDGE, starting slowly, closed with good speed. LIPTON raced well placed, but failed to rally when shaken up. LADY EMISON was held safe throughout. IDLE SUN, forced to race on the inside from the start, went into contention rapidly, drove through on the inside to displace HONEYMAID, was kept under urging and held sway in the closing drive. HONEY-MAID had good speed to move clear in the first three-eighths, lost command on the final turn and was strongly ridden to the finish. OLD MAIN ROAD, lacking early speed, moved up resolutely in the late stages. BERT W. worked his way to the leaders, but swung very wide in the stretch run. MARY ALLIE raced well in spots. BLUE BOO was unable to menace the leaders. KIN FANG was outrun. WISE -ATTORNEY was never a factor. ALMA NUGGET showed speed for half a mile. ENDORA quit badly. The latter was prominent under strong pressure, went to the inside when straightened out in the stretch and was wearing down the winner. WHAT FUN was rushed up fast on the outside near the stretch, challenged gamely, then held on well. NUTTY displayed good early speed, but failed to stay. MARLIANT was hard ridden and had no mishaps. The latter, sluggish in the early racing, moved up gamely on the outside and finished with a rush in the final drive. WHA HAE forced a steady pace, challenged repeatedly and held on gamely. SAUNDERSTOWN was a stout contender early while on the outside of the leaders, but tired under punishment in the stretch drive. PATSY BEGONE could not reach the leaders. NOEL H. had no mishaps. MINTSON, going forwardly under light urging, was shaken up stoutly in the last half mile, saved, ground and fought it out gamely after engaging the winner nearing the home stretch. BERTILLON, in hand while trailing the others, made up some ground in the last half mile. DULCIMER failed to keep up when challenged. JACK PATCHES had no excuses.
