MANY CRETE APPLICATIONS LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 7 Tom Young, Churchill Downs track superintendent, returned from Chicago, where he inspected work under way at Lincoln Fields. He said he may have an announcement to make early next week relative to opening Lincoln Fields for the stabling of horses. Applications for more than 600 horses for the Crete track already have been received, Young stated. Work on improvements which Young is supervising at Churchill Downs is rapidly nearing completion.
