W. CRUMPS FIVE YOUNGSTERS Quintet Owned in Partnership With L. A. Mosley, Recent Arrivals at Churchill Downs Track. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 7. Willie Crump, former jockey and now a successful trainer, arrived at Churchill Downs with five two-year-olds he owns in partnership with L. A. Mosley of Hopkinsville, Ky. The youngsters came from Nashville, where they wintered, and arrived in excellent shape. Crump, who hopes to acquire additional horses for campaigning this summer, had much to do with the early training of the King Ranchs Santa Anita Derby winner, Ciencia. He had the filly through most of her juvenile season and much credit for her future usefulness must be given to Crump for the capable handling he gave her as a two-year-old. Crump also developed Head Play, which he sold to Mrs. Silas B. Mason for a reported 0,000 on the eve of the 1933 Kentucky Derby. Head Play finished second, beaten only narrowly by Brokers Tip, the following day. The two-year-olds which the former rider brought to Churchill Downs were: Royal Man, a bay colt by Man ONight Royal Purple; Nightland, a brown colt by Man ONight Rockland; Night Lady, a bay filly by Man ONight Elation; Car-Rou a chestnut filly by Carlaris Roulade; Swift Knight, a bay colt by Swift and Sure Gay Knightess.
