Late in the third period, Bobby Bauer made his .way through the Toronto Maple Leafs spread to bring the puck into the net and thereby give the Boston Bruins a 2-1 victory over the Canadian sextet in the opening game .of the Stanley Cup competition. A crowd of 16,523 witnessed the affair in the Boston Garden. k
