KEENELAND TURF NOTES f e William Cunningham and Lou Cahn came in Thursday from Hot Springs and joined Jimmy Gruber, who has been catching the morning moves of horses the past two weeks at Keeneland. W. S. Rust, trainer for J. O. Keene, and who races a few horses for his own account, is confined to the Julius Marks Sanitarium. Rust has been in ill-health for some time and his physician recommended a long rest. T. L. Pierce came aver from his home in Covington, Ky., in quest of two stalls for horses he is training for J. R. Neville, Cincinnati sportsman. Silverette, double winner at Hot Springs, and three other horses, the property of G. Watts, Fayette County breeder, arrived here today in charge of trainer J. J. Sirl. Robert McGarvey notified W. T. Bishop that he will bring eight horses from Churchill Downs on Sunday. They are the property of W. F. Morgan, wealthy Texas oil man. Miss Bull Dog, Germanicus and Total Eclipse comprise the Valley Grey stable Frank Farro has at Keeneland. Farro sent Sun Charles to the old. Goodloe farm, where he will be turned out until fall. In addition to five unnamed two-year-olds, Charles Whitney Moore has Wooden Indian, Dr. Holmes, Uphold and Ridiculous quartered at Keeneland. All of the youngsters were raised by the young Lexington horseman, and names have been applied for. George "Brownie" Leach, director of publicity, has been appointed one of the stewards for the Keeneland meeting. He is a son of the late Dr. M. M. Leach, whose turf writings under the nom de plume of "Exile" were carried daily in the Morning Telegraph and other turf publications more than a score of years ago. John Troxler, of King Nadi fame, is a daily visitor. After vacationing at New Orleans for several days after the long meeting at the Fair Grounds, T. C. Bradley, who makes his home here, was an arrival. Judge Bradley will be here for several days before going to Beulah Park, where he acts as presiding steward.. . Waldo Freeman arrived in advance of his two-horse stable, which is being shipped here from Hot Springs. According to Hal Price Headley, Menow, which broke down last year, served thirty-five mares this spring. Unable to find stabling room for the ten head he brought here from New Orleans, . John Zoeller was forced to divide his stable. Prosy, Dick Naishapur, Joe Greenock and Wise Greenock found quarters at Keeneland, while Miss Cleo, Sudie Greenock, Sara Greenock, Beau Greenock, Sir Greenock and Gay Hallie are quartered at the Lexington trotting track. R. L. Stivers has Brown Moss and Oddesa Lady in training at Keeneland and Dark Flag and Lady In Black quartered at the trotting track. THl n fiT--TTnn 11- TUT! They are the property of Roy Car-ruthers, and Parke is also training Kissem for the Millsdale Stable. Eddie Arcaro arrived from his home in Newport, Ky., and reported to John M. Gaver, who has a division of Mrs. Payne Whitney s Greentrce Stable here. Tom Heard has arranged to ship the horses he brought here from his farm at Refugio, Texas, to Narragansett Park on Saturday. Beckham Stivers, young Lexington horseman, is training I Chase, Coletown Belle, Katy Kate, Casanard and the two-year-olds f ? ncd CliPman- Both juveniles are sons of Kai-Sang and were purchased at the Lexington sales last fall.
