] CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES | ♦ — — $ In a transaction Involving some cash, C. R. Valentine sent the two-year-old filly Saucy Mate to the stable of Kirby Ramsey, receiving Busy Lady; also a two-year-old, in the deal. Kinney Pitt has had the mare Demanding fired and she will not resume racing before summer. He has Lynxholm for racing during the Churchill Downs meeting. Three juveniles, the property of Mrs. Cecil "Willis of Glenview, 111., have been transferred to Washington Park from here. The youngsters are Black Time, Ruby Falls and Lady O., according to C. R. Valentine, who has trained the youngsters here. Baylor O. Hickman moved the horses Arabs Arrow and Tyr from Douglas Parle to Churchill Downs and later will transfer the remainder of his thoroughbreds from the Beechmont course. Plans have been completed by H. H. Temple, Jr., Kentucky turfman, to bring the Donrovian Stable horses from Keeneland to Douglas Park. Cliff Sanford, who will serve as clerk of scales, arrived from his home in Covington. Stalls for the fifteen horses Howard Hoffman is training for Roy G. Martins Wood-vale Stable are in readiness at Douglas Park. The horses have been racing at Lexington. Maj. Joseph M. Kelley, head of the Kentucky State National Guard, was here Thursday going over arrangements for the handling of the Derby day throng with officials of Churchill Downs. Edward J. Fleming, Chicago coal operator and a director of the American Turf Association, arrived Thursday with Peter ONeil from Chicago and they will remain until after the Derby. Entry blanks for the eleven Lincoln Fields Stakes, closing on May 10, have been in big demand since they made their appearance several days ago. Each of the eleven stakes carries ,500 in added money. The Valdina Farms horses campaigned at Keeneland are back in the private E. F. "Woodward barn at the Downs, trainer J. J. Flanigan having returned with them early Friday. Jockey Warren Cornay came over from Lexington and plans to remain throughout the Churchill Downs meeting. John McQuaid will make the mounts for the Crescent City veteran, who will ride free lance.
