ELDEE was. outrun in the early stages, but improved her position when straightened out for the stretch run, then finished with a rush and wore down the leaders in the last strides. TILAANA was sent into command with a rush, showed speed while saving ground and held on well to outlast SURE LAD. The latter broke from outside the gates, forced the early pace from the start and finished well. TEDALL raced for-wardly from the start and had no mishaps. ROSARIAN faltered under urging at the end. JACK FLY was on the outside from the start. SALA VINA raced well. ABNER lacked speed. TICKMARA was outrun. EXETER was shuffled back. FERRYBOAT was kept in close pursuit of the early pace from the start, moved into command when ready and drew away, then finished with speed in reserve. RITORNO was under mild urging in the early stages, tried to bear out entering the stretch and finished fast when straightened out in the final eighth. CREDENCE showed a good effort while saving ground. CELEBRANT saved ground throughout. MADONNA was taken under restraint after the start and was weakly ridden throughout. BUENA ORO lacked speed. ST. ANNA broke fast, showed early speed and then quit. RED TACK broke from outside of the stalls. THE TRIUMVIR had no excuses. HASTY WIRE began slowly. JACKINTHEBOX was never a factor. Thp latter forced a fast; pace from the start, disposed of SILVER FLAME in the early running and held on, with good courage to the end. SUN PLUME moved up fast on the outside rounding the far turn, went wide entering the stretch and then faltered at the finish. HORSEPOWER dropped back after the start, lacked speed and had no mishaps. BOLD TURK raced in near pursuit of the early pace, saved ground and had no mishaps in the running. ROYAL EMINENCE closed ground steadily at the end. UNSELFISH lacked early speed. Won ridden out; second and third easily. SHOULDER ARMS moved into command with a rush and snowed high speed while saving ground, but was tiring in the final sixteenth. SCROOGE was well up from the start, was roused sharply rounding the stretch turn and finished fast on the inside. VAMOOSE was a forward factor from the start while racing on the inside and had no mishaps in the running. AT PLAY broke in a tangle and was away slowly, but closed with a rush at the end. SPILLWAY was under stout restraint in the early running while racing on the outside and was not persevered with at the finish. HARVESTING broke slowly and could not keep up. BLOND SPOOK was close up to the pace from the start and was in close quarters at the finish. HIJO GAUCHO had no mishaps in the running. PAPA JACK and WESTBROOKE were never serious factors.
