UNION GIRL, always within striking "distance of the leaders, found an opening on the fnside nearing the stretch to take a eond lead when straightened for home and won easily. BRUSTIGERT dropped back early when his riders foot slipped out of a stirrup, but came again after the boy recovered the iron and finished fast and gamely. MERINA raced BONE BLACK into defeat and went fairly well to the finish. IRONESS was eoing well at the end. LISA BELLE lost much ground by racing in the middle of the track throughout. TOP BILLING had speed from the start and, racing well after being headed, raced strongly to the end after having withstood, several challenges and v.on narrowly in a drive. BON AMOUR lacked early speed and was outrun to the stretch, then came very fast on the inside and was beaten but narrowly. EURIPIDES, taken back early, raced wide while making his move and tired under punishment after having caught the early leaders in the stretch. POLARIS tired in the last eighth. PORCELLUS, taken back when caught in close quarters on the inside in the early running, came to the outside in the stretch to make her move and, finishing fast, caught CROSS SIGN in the last sixteenth to win going away. BUNNY MARTIN dropped back after breaking well, but came very fast through the stretch. CROSS SIGN acted badly at the post and, off more slowly than usual, was used up fighting for the leadership in the early stages while racing on the inside and tired under his weight. SWEEP ROYAL, badly outrun early, was going strongly at the end. COSETTE tired in the stretch. ACES WILD and FOAM were used up racing close to the pace in the early stages. JARGO came very fast to find an opening next to the rail rounding the far turn and, hugging the inside, went gamely to the finish. PROPAGANDIST made up some ground in the last quarter. CLOSING TIME was bumped rounding the first turn and raced fairly well thereafter. SILVER .KIEV was bumped rounding the first turn and tired after reaching a contending position. DIARISSA bore out and was never a contender. MR. FINN tired. ALS PRIDE quit badly and seemed sore after pulling up. Overweight — Diarissa, 1 pound. Corrected weight — Booter Billy, 114.
