1 LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES * $ Leo "Ughtning" Jones, former jockey who retired from the saddle during the winter, arrived from Kentucky with J. H. Galway, Sr.s, Summit Hill and Determined, and Cinar, owned by J. Weiss. Hal Kizer, a Chicago regular for many years, has the two-year-old Mint Mary, a daughter of Mint Briar and Marat, at Lincoln Fields. The young thoroughbred is owned by Mrs. H. N. Gittins, of Columbus, Ohio. The filly Novelette, which Howard Oots, acting for a California patron, purchased from Mrs. J. Lowenstein, was shipped to Hollywood Park from Kentucky and made the trip in the same car with the horses Ed Haughton will campaign at the Inglewood course. Late arrivals at Lincoln Fields included Joseph B. Binstock, with Ladfield, Blade Edge, Jeans Pride, Hope Diamond, Whipstitch, Panic Relief and Mary Seibert. The former three will race under the Binstock colors, while Hope Diamond, Whipstitch and j Panic Relief are owned by Ruth Sidell, and j Mary Seibert by A. N. Gelb. I Joe Neal arrived with two horses, while j C. L. Helm, with six, and J. D. Larkin, with I three, were expected Thursday. William O. Hicks came from Louisville with the Emdale Stable and J. P. Sallee is expected Friday from the same point with the horses he is training for T. C. Piatt, T. Piatt and others. Superior Farms Bobs Boys and C. E. Davisons Chance Ray may be sent to Detroit to participate in the Memorial Day Handicap at the Motor City track. Don McEachern,. popular young trainer, starts the Chicago season with, Shot Put, Stepladder, Crimspn and Roguish. Lady. The latter is a juvenile daughter of Roguish Eye and Pitch Dark. McEachern owns Crimson, while the others in his charge race under the silks of Mrs. M. Evans. In addition to six that race under his colors, Roscoe Goose has at Lincoln Fields six belonging to John Marsch, a like number owned by Mrs. Marsch and one each for the partnerships of John Marsch and Dr. John Klein and W. L. Lyons Brown and John Fetter. Jockey Charles Kurtsinger is with the stable. Scratch time for Tuesday, Decoration Day, has been set for 7 a. m. to facilitate the printing of programs. H. H. Battle has taken over the training of the horses formerly handled by C. C. Norman. Among his new charges is Joe De-sopos Tunica, a consistent winner last year. J. D. Larkin got in from Fairmount Park with Fluke, Texas Boy and Silver Fleet, owned by T. Aleccia. Another coming from the Collinsville track was C. T. Young, with Earlsboro and Three Sands, owned by E. R. Moulder. Young will bring three more from Fairmount after the meeting there. Before shipping eight horses here from Louisville for C. W. Pershall, and other patrons, Thomas Root sent Winged Victory and Burr Hickman to Fairmount Park, where they will be raced by J. M. Nugent. - There are seven horses in the public stable Burley Parke has at Lincoln Fields. They are Green Grocer and Kissem, owned by the" Millsdale Stable Red Amazon and Reigh Dear, the property of Mrs. John D. Hertz, and Miss June Bug, Lambeth and Shaker-town which race for Mrs. Roy Carruthers. Parke expected to receive several more horses from Lexington for the Millsdale establishment. Born to Run, Miss Peru, George Bryan-and Magic Shift will carry the colors of the Valley Spring Stock Farm .here this spring.. The horses were wintered at the farm at Peru, Ind. R. W, .Watkins has the horses in charge.
