STATE SEEKS FILTER FEE Commissioner of Public Works Hewitt has received notice from Carter Jenkins, chief engineer of the state waterways department, that the city must pay six cents per cubic foot for the excavation of 200,000 cubic feet of clay on the site of the proposed 0,000,000 filtration plant in Calumet Harbor. The city has received a PWA grant of ,415,750 for the project.
