i SATURDAYS DUAL FEATURES Dearborn and Kankakee Handicaps Feature of Half -Holiday Offering at Crete — Promising Contests. CRETE, 111., May 25— With the Crete Handicap, run this afternoon as the feature of Lincoln Fields inaugural program, horsemen and fans next will give their attention to the Dearborn and Kankakee handicaps, which will be presented as the dual headliners of Saturdays card. The Dearborn is a five furlongs dash for two-year-old fillies, and the Kankakee, a mile sprint for older fillies and mares. They are endowed with ,500 each in added money. Top weight for the juvenile dash has been assigned to William F. Morgans Downy Pillow, winner of her only two engagements, and she must shoulder 122 pounds. After winning her initial start at Keeneland, Downy Pillow moved over to Churchill Downs to annex the Debutante Stakes. Other highly regarded two-year-old fillies in this event are J. E. Wideners Drury Lane, winner of her first start, and placed in two subsequent stakes in Florida early in the year; Mrs. Kirby Ramseys Sassy Mate, winner of her only engagement; J. W. Parrishs Whim Wham, the Valdina Farms Valdina Nymph and the Milky Way Farms R»yal Edict. In all, fifty youngsters were nominated for the Dearborn Handicap. The Kankakee, for which thirty were made eligible, attracted such useful fillies and mares as Smart Crack, Unerring, Rude Awakening, . Dolly Val, Two Bob, Dressy, Bala Ormoht, Smart Trick, Miss Sarah, Blazearound, Cross Keys, Rule All, Dinner Date and Vassar.
