RED MOSS, forced to race wide early and ajways under energetic riding, raced prominently from the start and tired in the late stages, where he encountered mild interference, yet outstayed MAJORITY VOTE. PRAIRIE DOG, never far from the pace, raced around ROYAL BLUE and COMMISSION while under snug restraint approaching the stretch, was briskly shaken up after reaching the last three-sixteentlis and, continuing well, held the race safe to the end. ROYAL BLUE displayed good speed from the start, was stFongly urged when trying to regain command on the stretch turn and, given a short breathing spell just inside the final quarter, held on fairly well while under severe pressure the final eighth. COMMISSION, away fast, was alwavs a sharp factor and, shaking off GOOD ACTOR, was slowly wearing down ROYAL BLUE. GOOD ACTOR rallied stoutly in the stretch, but tired in the closing stages. CHARMED ONE appeared to suffer interference from CAUTIVO soon after the start, was blocked on the far turn and had little chance thereafter. CAUTIVO stumbled badly at the start, was rushed up on the inside, but quit in the stretch. THIRD-RACE 3-4 MILE. Our Crest, Aug. 10, 1937—1:10—4—113. Purse 00. fm /fCTfTO 3-year-olds. Claiming. MISS BAKER, rank at the post but away well, raced under light restraint for a half mile, came away when called upon after straightening out in the stretch and easily held sway through the final eighth. ROLLINGHEELS, in close quarters early and taken to the outside when clear, lost, much ground by bearing out badly entering the stretch, continued to race wide thereafter and, closing with determination under strong handling, headed HIGH PLACE right at the end. HIGH PLACE had speed, was snugged along for a half mile, swerved out while hoiding on well for about an eighth after being put to pressure and tired in the late stages. OATSIE B. had no mishaps. The latter, away slowly and forced to race wide, improved his position gradually, was vigorously ridden after a half mile and, but for swerving near the end, might have finished closer up. TAKEN, rushed into the lead on the inside and saving ground throughout, was under urging after a half mile, gave way slowly until the last fifty yards, where he tired sharply. SHINING SUN dropped back on the turn and did not threaten theeraftcr. JOSH began very sluggishly. LEAP pulled up lame. SILVERETTE, away fast, gradually opened up a clear advantage in the first quarter and, while still restrained, crossed to the inside on the turn, was vigorously roused soon after reaching, the stretch and, holding on stubbornly under her impost, withstood the challenge of LIGHTSPUR. The latter, close up from the start, saved ground to the stretch, came out for the drive and, closing boldly under strong handling, barely missed getting up. EASY MON raced prominently but wide from the start, failed to rally in the drive and tired in the late stages, but held THE FIGHTER safe.
