MILAM LOSES TWO HORSES LEXINGTON, Ky., May 25. — J. C. Milam had the misfortune to lose two of his horses in training at Keeneland this morning. They were Merricks Place, two-year-old brown colt, by Jacopo — Anna M. Humphrey, by Peter Quince, and Tallapoosa, three-year-old chestnut filly, by Stimulus — Arch Queen, by Archaic. Merricks Place was regarded as a very promising colt and had been engaged in a number of stakes. A post-mortem examination is to be held late this afternoon. Veterinarians of the opinion that the cause may have been due to blood worms. They had been given treatment for the removal of worms.
