1 NORTH RANDALL TURF NOTES | ■v ■ § Andy Gumpere spent the day here in the interest of Detroit stakes and left for the Motor City after canvassing the stables at the Cleveland suburban course. Jockey Tom Murphy, member of the older brigade of reinsmen gathering here, brought in his tack and plans to ride throughout the meeting. Dr. A. J. Gericke, head of the Gericke Clinic in Cleveland, has been appointed track physician by the Cleveland Jockey Club. Robert "Red" Wingfield transferred his charges from Churchill and went into quarters in the barn occupied by L. V. Bellew, Jr. The quartette Ray Dolloway brought in from Beulah Park are Bonnie Cain, Son Richard, Popular Sue and Betnabar. Racing secretary Julius G. Reeder announced that 10:30 oclock will be closing time for entries, with 8:30 oclock as the deadline for filing scratches. Rapid progress is being made with the construction of the barns and the entire quota is expected to be in readiness by the end of the week, which will enable those horsemen who are on the waiting list to ship in. The nine juveniles that C. C. Van Meter has here for campaigning are Vinum, Votum, Copin, Balover, Nadith, Valco, Vivat, Nas-sagne and Swift Singer. It was announced that the "Daily Double" would be among the betting featui-es and would be conducted on the first and second races each day. Requests were received here Thursday from F. C. Travis and R. A. Coon for stabling accommodations. These stables are at present quartered on Long Island, N. Y. The veteran trainer, Jack Hayes, who formerly conditioned the racers of the Three Ds Stock Farm, brought in Black Mischief, Colonel Joe, C-Note, Miss Sonada and Our Daughter. Hasty Ruth, Blue .Star, Say When and King Joy constitute the representatives of G. C. Scott, Harlan, Ky., movie magnet.
