AUTO SALES BETTER , * f According to a report of the Automobile " Manufacturers Association, the retail sales- of cars and trucks in the United States during the month of April amounted to 310 883 units. Although this marked a decline of 6 per cent from the March figure of 330 669 it represented a 36 per cent gain over April, 1938.
